Coming November 25th at CON Concerts: The Prime Time Trio!

Featuring Bobby van Deusen at the piano and vocals, along with bassist Steve Pikal and drummer Tony Martin, the high energy Prime Time Trio will be in town to perform at the Belle Fourche Area Community Center auditorium at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, November 25, 2019.  That's just three days ahead of Thanksgiving.  This will be the second show in the 2019-2020 season for the Center of the Nation Concert Association.

Van Deusen is based in Florida but has been an occasional guest performer with the Barbary Coast Show Band.  Bobby really gets the audience involved by way of sing-a-longs with non-stop fun on stage and in the audience!

Philadelphia-born van Deusen took to the piano very young, listening to everything from Beethoven to Stan Kenton.

Bobby van Deusen leads the talented Prime Time Trio
"I was eight years old when I heard Rhapsody in Blue and thought it was the most beautiful thing I'd ever heard."  Determined to play the Gershwin masterpiece in its entirety – "all 18 minutes and change" – van Deusen learned the song, which led to his winning a young musicians competition when he was 11 years old.  Immediately after graduating from high school, he set his sights on music school.

Van Deusen was trained classically at the Eastman School and the Curtis Institute.  In 1976 he turned professional and moved south, migrating into the world of Dixieland and jazz piano.  For many years, he was a regular pianist for legendary musicians Pete Fountain, Al Hirt, and other big names in New Orleans.  By the 1980s, van Deusen had become known as a major player and was touring with Sammy Davis, Jr.  More recently, Bobby moved to Pensacola and plays throughout Florida and other parts of the country.

Bobby's a ham and loves to entertain the audience.  His song list is huge, including everything from the Pink Panther and Alley Cat to show tunes from the Sound of Music, Phantom of the Opera, My Fair Lady, Oklahoma, Fiddler on the Roof, and many others.  He offers sing-a-longs with Side by Side, Shine on Harvest Moon, Chattanooga Choo-Choo, Sentimental Journey, Tie a Yellow Ribbon and others.

If you're a fan of jazz and standard favorites – and enjoy performers inter-acting with the audience – this is the show for you.

So, prepare for the coming holiday season with a truly pleasurable evening of great entertainment featuring Bobby van Deusen and the Prime Time Trio.  They're coming our way on Monday, November 25th!
