If that sounds like a musical performance you’d like to attend, you’d be right on the money!
Indeed, you’ll not go wrong attending this up-and-coming husband and wife duo scheduled to open the 2019-2020 Center of the Nation Concert Association season at the Belle Fourche Area Community Center auditorium on Thursday, September 26, 2019. Stage lights go on at 7:30 p.m.
Sundae & Mr. Goessl are a married couple from Seattle who have developed a wonderful vintage jazz and pops show. Sundae carries the program with her gorgeous vocals and charming (if a bit quirky) humorous banter with her guitarist husband – Mr. Goessl – and the audience! Their musicianship and overall performance skills are outstanding and will provide the audience with a marvelous evening of fun.
Not only is Sundae adorable on stage, her voice is equal parts Billie Holiday and Teresa Brewer. Light and silly when it needs to be – and tinged with an old soul’s wry wit that pulls these vintage themes away from forced innocence into something more pure. She’s a charmer. And we bet the’ll cast a spell on you!
But Sundae is not singing a cappella. None of this would be possible without Mr. Goessl’s hot Parisian acoustic guitar, played with deft uke strums from the Django Reinhardt School. Just when you think you have a handle on his style, Mr. G mixes it up and turns on the reverb – off in another direction.
If you like hearing vintage tunes such as “Cheek to Cheek,” Caravan,” “Ain’t Misbehavin’,” “s’Wonderful,” “One Note Samba,” and many others, be sure to add Sundae & Mr. Goessl to your calendar for Thursday, September 26, at 7:30 p.m.
See you there!
